How to practice

From a steady Headstand, keep pressing through your forearms and slowly open both legs wide to either side. Keep your hips above your shoulders, steady through your center, and breathe evenly without moving your neck.

Benefits

Challenges shoulder support, trunk control, and spatial awareness while balancing upside down. Opening the legs adds hip control while the torso stays centered.

Who should avoid or modify

  • Learn only with a qualified teacher; do not kick up or turn the head under load. Avoid with neck injury, glaucoma, or uncontrolled high blood pressure; do not begin this pose during pregnancy. Open and close the legs slowly without shifting pressure onto the neck.
