How to practice

Begin in a stable Headstand, pressing firmly through your forearms. Slowly guide both legs toward one side while keeping your torso controlled. Return to center before changing sides. Keep your neck still and breathe slowly.

Benefits

Challenges shoulder support, trunk control, and spatial awareness while balancing upside down. The side variation adds controlled movement of the legs and pelvis while inverted.

Who should avoid or modify

  • Learn only with a qualified teacher; do not kick up or turn the head under load. Avoid with neck injury, glaucoma, or uncontrolled high blood pressure; do not begin this pose during pregnancy. Do not twist the loaded neck to follow the legs; use only a small, teacher-guided variation.
