How to practice

Enter Plow Pose with your feet reaching behind your head. Keep both shoulders grounded and slowly walk your feet to one side, a little at a time, without turning your head. Breathe evenly and return to center before switching sides.

Benefits

Provides a strong stretch along the back of the body and challenges control while folding the legs overhead. Taking the legs to one side adds a stretch along the side of the back.

Who should avoid or modify

  • Use expert guidance; do not force the feet to the floor or turn the head. Avoid with neck or spinal conditions, glaucoma, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or pregnancy; exit if breathing feels restricted. Keep the head still and move the legs only within a range that leaves the neck unstrained.
