How to practice

Begin in Dolphin Pose. Press evenly through your forearms and walk your feet a little closer. Lift one leg, shift your weight into the forearms, then bring the other leg up when balanced. Lengthen through your body and legs, keep the shoulders active, and breathe steadily.

Benefits

Builds shoulder and trunk strength while developing inverted balance and controlled weight bearing through the arms.

Who should avoid or modify

  • Learn with a qualified teacher and a planned safe exit. Avoid with arm or shoulder injury, glaucoma, or uncontrolled high blood pressure; do not begin during pregnancy or kick up without control.
